Is There an Anti-Aging, Anti-Wrinkle Smoothie?

The answer is yes, there are anti-aging, anti-wrinkle smoothies, and in this post, I’ll take you through my recipe for a super anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammation, cancer-fighting and healthy aging blueberry smoothie – that tastes good!  So one thing you’ll notice is that I’m putting all the ingredients into this Vitamix blender, which I use instead of a juicer, as we want to get all the health-promoting benefits of the fiber in the ingredients. I’ve used other blenders, but for me, the Vitamix is the best I’ve come across.

This recipe is for 2 smoothies, and the first thing that goes in is 2 cups of blueberries.  We use blueberries because they taste good, and they bring health benefits including that blueberries are a good source of anti-inflammatory anthocyanins, they’re full of antioxidants that help anti-aging. Studies show that blueberries also boost memory, support heart health, and protect against cancer.

How Does Turmeric Help with Anti-Aging?

After the blueberries, we add turmeric, which contains a compound called curcumin, which has strong anti-aging & antioxidant properties that inhibit free radical production, which controls aging by protecting your cells from damage. Research reveals that turmeric is a natural wonder, and beneficial in the treatment of many different health conditions from cancer to Alzheimer's disease.

Turmeric also helps stimulate new cell growth and may directly reduce skin aging – including preventing moisture loss and protecting against wrinkles. We also know that curcumin in Turmeric has strong anti-inflammatory properties, and inflammation is associated with age-related diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease. So I put in 2 tablespoons, which brings 600 milligrams per smoothie – plenty enough to bring the health-promoting benefits.

To further aid the absorption of curcumin, we add avocado, which is high in healthy omega 3 fatty acids, which are also inflammation-fighting, and promote smooth, supple skin. Avocados improve cognitive function and also contain a variety of essential nutrients that may prevent the negative effects of aging, including vitamins K, C, E, and A.

Does Ginger Protect Skin & Help with Anti-Aging?

Next, we put in fresh chopped Ginger, which also has major anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties. Ginger’s anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties also improve skin tone, and its antioxidant properties help prevent free radical damage and also helps protect against aging. It also evens skin tone and improves elasticity. I love the taste of ginger – it adds a zing to the smoothie.

Does Cinnamon Promote Healthy Skin & Aging?

We further add cinnamon, an amazing spice that has anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, cardiovascular-disease-lowering compounds. Cinnamon protects against dementia, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, and also supports digestive health and prevents insulin spikes, which can lead to the formation of wrinkles and blemishes. Maintaining stable blood sugar level is an essential component of an anti-aging strategy. Cinnamon has also been shown to lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

What Are The Anti-Aging Benefits of Matcha Green Tea?

After that, we add matcha green tea, which has 10 times more nutrients than ordinary green tea and 137 times more antioxidants, and is another anti-aging ingredient that nourishes your brain, increases concentration, boosts energy, balance your mood, and supports healthy weight loss and detoxification.

Green tea also inhibits cancer stem cells and has proven beneficial effects on skin health, including that it improves skin elasticity and density and increases blood flow to the skin.

Next, we add Dr. Gundry Vital Reds, which promotes the berry flavor we’re looking for, as well as having health benefits for improved digestion, weight loss and management, diabetes treatment, protection against cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disease and other chronic conditions. And it tastes good!

Does Collagen Hydrolysate Help With Wrinkles?

After that, we add collagen hydrolysate which reduces visible signs of aging, reduces wrinkles, keep joints strong and flexible, support strong bones, and increase skin hydration. Note that collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. Our bodies start to slow the production of collagen after age 25, so supplementation is important.

Next, we add 2 cups of Organic Power Greens, a mixture of baby kale, chard & spinach, all of which are low calorie, loaded with antioxidants, contain cancer-fighting compounds, and are known to reduce blood pressure, and contain compounds that may help prevent heart disease and lung cancer.

And the last step before we blend is to add the juice of one lemon, which adds brightness to the flavor and enhances the berry flavors. Additionally, lemon juice is also known for its therapeutic properties, including that it’s anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer, due to the phytovitamins and nutrients it contains.

And Now You Blend These Ingredients!

After you’ve blended all the other ingredients, add protein powder, which has been shown to increase longevity. It also tends to keep you full for longer, and since it increases concentrations of an antioxidant called glutathione in our bodies, it’s another anti-oxidant, and like the cinnamon, we added earlier, it improves insulin resistance in older individuals. The protein powder is added last because it makes the smoothie frothy if you add it at first.

Just blend to incorporate the protein powder and serve. Enjoy your super anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammation, cancer-fighting, and healthy aging blueberry smoothie – that tastes good!

The recipe is for 2 people

2 cups blueberries
¼ cup course chopped ginger
2 tablespoons turmeric
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 cups organic power greens
juice of 1 lemon
2 scoops Gundry Vital Reds
4 scoops collagen hydrolysate powder
2 scoops MSM
2 scoops Hyaluronic Acid
1 small avocado
top up with organic almond milk
blend on high till completely smooth
add 2 scoops protein powder and just blend to incorporate

    1. Hi Mike - Yes, the protein powder I use in the video is vanilla. I do make a variation where I don’t add the lemon juice, then add a couple of scoops of Anthony’s organic cocoa powder (lots of anti-oxidants) and then chocolate protein powder.
