Fit after 50

Welcome to Healthy Aging Blueprint

Explore how the Healthy Aging Blueprint website is organized organized for you.

Hello and congratulations for joining Healthy Aging Blueprint. This website is designed to focus on action. The best form of action that’s going to get you fit and improve your longevity is based on adopting daily habits that include regular exercise and healthy nutrition.

So here’s what you need to do:

Think about your current level of fitness.

What kind of shape are you in?

How long has it been since you exercised regularly?

The reason to ask yourself these questions is that the action part of the Healthy Aging Blueprint is in the Exercise Programs, found under the Healthy Aging Blueprint menu item you now have access to.

You need to determine for yourself what level of fitness you have, and what you should do. Also: it’s generally recommended that you ask for your doctor’s approval before starting an exercise program.

The Exercise Programs are set up for people as follows:

  • Newbies – you haven’t exercised in years – you’re very out of shape
  • Beginner Intermediate – you’ve exercised a bit, but you have a long way to go
  • Advanced intermediate – you’ve exercised moderately, and feel up to a challenge
  • Advanced – you’ve exercised regularly, and you want a program to bring you to the next level

So now it’s up to you. Look at the exercise program descriptions, decide what you want to do, and commit to doing the daily activity.

Each day in the Exercise Levels has 3 sections:

The GREEN text is the prescribed daily activity. Green means GO.

The text in black is general information you need to know, interesting information, or motivational information.

The BLUE text is points you to a video to watch that day. The purpose of distributing the videos over many days is to “drip feed” the information on this site related to fitness and nutrition.

YOUR TASK is to choose a Exercise Level, commit to it, and do the ACTION prescribed every day.

Doing so will get you fit and healthy.

Recognize that changing your diet is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. Nutrition is the most powerful lifestyle intervention to live longer-some believe even more important than exercise.

So do the daily exercise, watch the videos, and explore the modules at your own pace to learn about fitness and nutrition, and get after a long, healthy life.

I’m with you on the journey.

So let’s do this, together.
